Halloween was nearly canceled at our house due to a combination of wet cement and stomach flu. Penny was sick on the 30th and Lucy got it on the 31st. What a bummer. In addition, we ended up getting the cement poured for our new driveway and sidewalk that day. We had a backhoe and a small bulldozer parked at the end of our driveway and caution tape circling our porch and sidewalk to keep people off that night: nice and welcoming.
We canceled our Halloween party due to the sickies, but all was not lost. At least the girls were feeling good enough for a little trick-or-treating and I managed to blaze a trail through our garden for candy-lovers to make it to our porch. Also, wasn't it crazy warm? I don't remember the last time I went trick-or-treating without a winter coat.
